Study paths

Bangladeshi students follow the same two routes as most international applicants — and for most, the first one is the English-taught MBBS. It is a six-year clinical-medicine bachelor taught in English at MOE-approved universities: direct entry with HSC certificates plus an English test (typically IELTS 6.0–6.5 or an interview), no Chinese needed until clinical years. Seats are limited and allocated per intake, so apply as early as the window opens.

The second route is the Chinese-taught path: a preparatory year to HSK 4–5, then a Chinese-taught bachelor. It is the cheaper route per year and unlocks the widest university choice in our corpus, and it suits students who want Mandarin as a career asset.

Scholarships matter more for Bangladeshi applicants than for most: start with our CSC Type A vs Type B guide, then check which programs in the list below fit your budget using official tuition figures only. Living costs are in our costs overview and city guides.

Tuition & budget

Published annual tuition — typical range across the programs below: CNY 45,000–70,000/yr typical range — pending verification; each figure is the university's own published number, never converted.

Living costs (dorm, food, transport, insurance) are covered per city rather than per nationality — see the costs overview and our city guides, which include monthly budgets and halal-food notes.

Scholarships for Bangladeshi students

CSC Type A is applied at the Chinese embassy in your country (country quotas) and Type B directly through the university. Country-specific and globally open awards are both listed — quotas vary by country and year, so confirm in each official notice. See the CSC Type A vs Type B guide and the scholarships hub.

Visa & arrival

After admission you get an admission letter and a JW202 form (JW201 if you are on a Chinese Government Scholarship). Bangladeshi students apply for the X1 visa (study over 180 days) at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka; short courses use X2. The X1 must be converted to a residence permit within 30 days of arrival, handled with your university's international office.

Timing is the main trap: begin the visa as soon as the JW202 lands, and carry all originals — admission letter, JW form, health check — in your cabin bag. The student visa guide has the full checklist.

Degree recognition — read before you enrol

Medical graduates who want to practise in Bangladesh answer to the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC). BMDC's rules for foreign-trained doctors are the authoritative word — not this page, not any agent. We only state what is safe to state: the regulator exists, its announcements change, and you must check its latest notice on foreign medical graduates before accepting a seat. Confirm your university is on China's MOE-approved list for English-taught MBBS, and rely on the as-of line below for how current these notes are.

Frequently asked questions

Is MBBS in China English-taught for Bangladeshi students?

The programs shown on this page are English-taught bachelor programs in clinical medicine (MBBS) at Ministry of Education-listed universities. Always confirm the university is on the current MOE approved list before you pay anything.

Can Bangladeshi students get a full scholarship in China?

The Chinese Government Scholarship is open to Bangladeshi applicants through two routes — Type A via the Chinese embassy in Dhaka, Type B directly via universities. Provincial and university-funded awards also exist; quotas vary by country and year, so read the official notices.

Do I need HSK before joining an English-taught MBBS?

No — admission is on your HSC results and English. Chinese language classes are part of the program because clinical years involve Chinese-speaking patients; universities usually require HSK 4 before ward rotations.

Who decides whether my Chinese MBBS degree is valid in Bangladesh?

Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) is the national regulator. Check BMDC's latest official announcements about foreign medical qualifications before enrolling — we intentionally do not paraphrase its rules here.

What does student life cost in Chinese cities?

It varies a lot by city. Our costs page and city guides break down typical monthly budgets — we link them rather than inventing a national number.
