Wuhan

Major city Metro Est. budget CNY 2,300–4,500 (USD 320–630) / month incl. dorm or shared flat

Central China's megacity at the confluence of the Yangtze and Han rivers hosts more university students than any other Chinese city — well over a million. Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology lead a dense cluster that also includes strong MBBS programs at Tongji Medical College. Optics-valley electronics, autos and biotech anchor the economy, and the city is the rail heart of China.
